Simion Filip

Simion Filip was born in Chisinau, Moldova, is our 2005 graduate, he won bronze and silver medals respectively while representing Moldova in International Mathematical Olympiad. 

Filip graduated from Princeton University in 2009 with AB in mathematics. Then he received master’s degree with distinction at University of Cambridge in 2010. In 2016, he received his PhD degree at University of Chicago. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Chicago since 2019. 

Filip received two distinctive awards; a five-year Clay Research Fellowship award in 2016 and EMS Prize in 2020.
